One dial.
Two pages.

Mood Dial was built for iPhone Duo from the first day it could be. Open it, fold it, stand it on the table: the dial follows, and the music never stops.

Radio Mode

Half-fold it. It becomes a radio.

Stand iPhone Duo half open on a table and Mood Dial turns into a small radio. The dial glows on the standing half, the play controls sit on the flat half under your hand, and the screen stays awake while music plays.

This does not exist on a single-screen iPhone. It is the reason the Duo version was made.

Two pages

Open it sideways. The dial takes one page, the player the other.

The split lands exactly on the fold, so nothing you tap ever sits on the hinge. Turn the dial on the left page and the right page previews that station before you press play.

Ask across the fold

Say how you feel on one page. The station appears on the other.

Type or speak a line like “something for a slow rainy evening” and Mood Dial builds a station from your words. Half-fold the phone sideways and your words stay on the dial's page while the new station appears on the other, so the question and the answer never share a screen.

Ask on iPhone Duo: the typing bar and suggestion chips over the dial, keyboard open
Closed or open

The same station, whichever way you hold it.

Closed, the outer display shows the full Mood Dial, not a cut-down version. Open it and the same station carries on as two pages, with no reload and no pause.

Set it down like a tent and the Listen screen settles into a resting view: the dial on one side, the song on the other, and nothing moves until you do.

Made for the hinge, not squeezed onto it

  • Sheets, alerts, the title and even the loading dial move to a page of their own when the phone is half-folded.
  • Sideways, the station card fills the empty page instead of leaving it black.
  • The iPhone layout, bigger, when the Duo is open and flat. No stacked rearrangement to relearn.
  • Edit a dial on the flat half while the dial fills up on the standing half.
  • Your dials, stations and taste sync across iPhone, iPad and iPhone Duo through iCloud.
  • CarPlay, Siri, Shortcuts, widgets and Control Center work exactly as they do on any iPhone.

Questions

Is the iPhone Duo version a separate app?
No. It is the same Mood Dial from the App Store. The app reads the hinge and lays itself out for whatever pose the phone is in.
Does Radio Mode keep the screen on?
Yes, while music is playing. Fold the phone shut or pause and it behaves like any other app again.
Do I need Apple Music?
Yes. Mood Dial plays through your Apple Music subscription. The dial, the stations and the layouts are free; custom stations are part of the membership.
Which iPhone Duo features are new in the latest version?
Radio Mode, the two-page layout, Ask across the fold, the full app on the closed display and the tent resting view all shipped in Mood Dial 2026.10, in time for the first iPhone Duo. The same release added notes on songs and a sleep timer on every iPhone.
